Our Story

Friendly Foot was born out of the dank, sweaty soles of climbing shoes back in 2002. If you’ve ever been around rock climbers, you know—it’s a world filled with some of the most unforgiving odors an outdoor enthusiast can create. I was one of those unfortunate offenders, able to clear out a room—or a car—within minutes thanks to my shoes.

At the time, I was managing a climbing gym and had tried every deodorizer on the market, using them both on my own shoes and our rental fleet. Nothing worked. That’s when I thought: how hard could it be to make something natural and effective? Odor comes from bacteria—so if I eliminate the bacteria, I eliminate the smell. Simple, right? Exactly.

For the next eight years, I experimented with natural and organic ingredients until I finally created something that worked wonders. Starting a business wasn’t on my mind, but my climbing friends wanted to try it. Then their friends did too. Slowly, word spread and before long, my kitchen couldn’t keep up. In October of 2010, I took the leap—stocking my garage with equipment, enlisting family and friends, and officially launching Friendly Foot.

Five years later, Friendly Foot earned its first patent and grew into 215 stores across the U.S., with reach into 15 countries worldwide. Today, it stands as the only all-natural, 100% effective shoe deodorizer on the market. Once you try it, your shoes will never smell again.

But this journey has always been about more than just fresh shoes. Now our company has grown to become Friendly Fusion, encompassing all skin care products that are natural, organic and 100% effective. My goal has been to build a company that gives back—partnering with organizations dedicated to serving humanity and improving lives. That’s why we’ve joined forces with One Day’s Wages, donating a portion of every sale to support their mission.
